Jim Caviezel separated shoulder and cracked rib, Actor Jim Caviezel, who portrayed the role of Jesus Christ in director Mel Gibson’s “The Passion”, is no stranger to suffering for his art. Now a regular on the popular television series “Person of Interest”, Caviezel admits he has suffered not only a separated shoulder but also cracked ribs doing some of his own stunt work on the drama.

The 44-year old Caviezel portrays an ex-CIA agent on the crime series, which means that his scripts from time to time call on him to engage in some rough hand to hand combat with the bad guys.

Although Caviezel says he is glad to be steadily employed, he doesn’t know just how much more his forty-something body can handle.

He recently admitted in a magazine interview that his role on “Person of Interest” has caused him to sustain a wide range of injuries, from cracked ribs and a separated shoulder to a broken nose, a shattered kneecap and the aftermath of a direct punch to the face.

Caviezel says that most viewers who see him on the show with cuts, scrapes and black and blue marks may think that he’s received a great make-up job. Little do fans realize it’s for real.
