Lottery winner cashes ticket, A lottery winner cashes in a ticket for $399.4 million in South Carolina -- but manages to remain anonymous. On Sept. 26, Epoch Times confirmed that the latest Powerball jackpot winner claimed their prize over a week after the winning numbers were announced. The winner -- who may take home about $233 million -- purchased $20 worth of tickets at a Murphy Express gas station in Columbia.

The new millionaire said that this was the only time he'd ever played Powerball. When he realized he won, he shared the news with his dog... because that's all who was around.

The lottery winner cashes his ticket quietly and privately, determined to keep his face out of the newspapers and out of the news. Obviously not wanting any additional attention, the winner took his money (though it's unknown whether or not he is taking the lump sum deposit) and went back into hiding.

Ironically, this is the second winning ticket purchased at a Murphy Express gas station. One other S.C. winner also bought their ticket from the same chain (but at a different location). That man, Rev. Solomon Jackson Jr., won $260 million in 2009. He has been very active in the community and has spent quite a good amount of money giving back.

The lottery winner that cashed his winning ticket this week has not said what he plans on doing with the money.
