Stevie Beale carried down the aisle by husband, Seven years after she was paralyzed from the waist-down in a car accident an Ohio woman fulfilled her dream of walking down the aisle at her wedding. But it wasn’t easy. She’s been working for this moment for months.
Flanked by her father and trainer, Stevie Beale made the inspirational walk to become Stevie Vanausdale.
After the ceremony Jared carried his bride down the aisle, excited to begin their future as husband and wife. New hubby Jared Vanausdale says, “Seeing everything come together at that moment and seeing all the hard work pay off and her in the dress and how beautiful she was and just kind of overwhelming and tried to keep it together as much as possible, so…”
Stevie says, “I’m just so excited to finally be married and know that I’m marrying my best friend, well I married my best friend I guess I can say now. And , you know, that I know we’re gonna laugh for the rest of our lives and that’s what I was looking for so I’m so happy.”
Stevie’s best friend Brianna Mullinger says she couldn’t be more proud. She says, “I’m so proud of her. Seeing her walk down the aisle is probably the most important part. I loved it, it was amazing. She’s worked so hard for it.”
This friendship began three years ago when Brianna lost her left leg in a train accident while walking to Springfield High School.
Stevie visited Brianna at the hospital. It’s also where she met her now husband Jared. Briana says, “It’s amazing – it’s amazing to know that I introduced them and that they – at the beginning they were just friends and they fell so madly in love. I’ve never seen it like that before.”
