As “Walking Dead” fans mourn the death of Hershel Green, the father figure of the group, who was killed ruthlessly by The Governor in the mid-season finale, many are wondering if this is the saddest loss on the hit AMC show yet.
Of course, “The Walking Dead” is known for killing off major characters such as Dale, Shane, Laurie, and Andrea, but it was Hershel’s death that seemed to have hit fans the hardest.

I thought it was sad/depressing when Dale died but holy cow I was not prepared to lose Hershel. I’m so heartbroken
Perhaps, it’s because Hershel was the moral center of the entire group, or because he was the oldest member, or possibly that fact that he’d been through so much already, like losing his leg after being bitten by a walker.
Whatever it is, fans are really taking his death hard.
